ABOUT PGY

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

Since 1978, PGY has been empowering individuals to Reach for the Stars in every facet of their lives by utilizing the transformative power of the performing arts to build self-confidence and foster personal growth! Our mission is to, transform a child’s life today by helping them reach for the stars and build their self confidence.

Is PGY For You?

Performing Groups for Youth is a year-long commitment. We seek out students with talent, but more importantly, we seek out students with integrity, honor, enthusiasm, and dedication. If this describes your child, then PGY is the place for you. While we are learning to use our talents, we also learn life skills and have experiences that will last far beyond the memories of each year.

As students develop performance skills,  they also learn to express the emotions of a text through music, movement, and drama. When our heart and performance are in tune, the effects are chills, laughter, tears, or true moments of joy for each of us, and hopefully, those who watch.

In PGY we are taught to transcend the technique and to focus on the emotions and joy of performance. The confidence found in mastering a step, or a solo; The joy in making new friends, and working as a team; the self-discipline found while learning to focus and learn new things, the thrill of using imagination and creativity and flexible ways of thinking to accomplish a goal.
